In 2015, Paula Rosolen founded the company Haptic Hide as a production structure for her artistic projects. The company is based in Frankfurt am Main and Munich and works internationally in collaboration with theaters in European, South American and Asian countries in particular, such as Künstlerhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt am Main and Théâtre de la Ville in Paris. In addition to this, Haptic Hide collaborates with a range of different foundations and institutions, including the Goethe-Institut.
Haptic Hide works as a flexible, mobile and open structure that produces and coordinates collaborations with different artists and institutions in order to carry out a diverse range of projects.
The company aims to create and manage professional dance and theater productions for both a specialized audience and an audience without any knowledge of the field of contemporary theater or dance.
The company’s pieces use forms, themes and subject areas that most people know or have had their own experiences with, or that are present in media. However, the subjects of study are always seen from different perspectives. Since there are so many layers and different ways of reading the individual pieces, which also examine phenomena from popular culture, they attract a wide range of audiences.
The company has taken over Paula Rosolen’s entire repertoire and is responsible for its touring. Haptic Hide continues to work faithfully with Paula Rosolen’s past project partners and aims to gain additional funding opportunities with the help of the new structure.
So far, Paula Rosolen and the Haptic Hide company have received support from the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, the Berlin Capital Cultural Fund and the Hessen State Ministry for Higher Education, Research and the Arts, as well as from the Kulturamt der Stadt Frankfurt am Main, Rudolf-Augstein-Stiftung, Saison Foundation Japan and the maecenia Stiftung für Frauen in Wissenschaft und Kunst.
Haptic Hide receives a multi-year support from the cultural office of Frankfurt am Main and is supported by Bureau Ritter / TANZPAKT RECONNECT, funded by the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media as part of the NEUSTART KULTUR initiative. With the kind support of the Tanzbüro Munich.
